Maserati has unveiled a striking new chapter in automotive personalization with the launch of “Fuoriserie By,” a series of exclusive car designs curated by prominent tastemakers and friends of the iconic Trident brand. Kicking off this exciting initiative is a collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara, the influential creative director of Japanese brand Fragment. Fujiwara has reimagined the MC20 Cielo sports car in two distinct colorways, showcasing his signature minimalist aesthetic.

This partnership marks a double celebration for Maserati. Not only does it introduce the innovative “Fuoriserie By” program, but it also delivers a stunning first edition courtesy of a long-standing relationship with Fujiwara and Fragment.

Fujiwara’s vision for the MC20 Cielo sees a subtle yet impactful shift in branding. Most notably, the traditional Maserati Trident on the rear hood has been replaced with Fragment’s iconic double lightning bolt emblem. This striking alteration immediately sets these special editions apart.

Two distinct color palettes define Fujiwara’s creations: Nero Vulcano (Volcano Black) with a matte black Fragment badge, and Bianco Audace (Audacious White) complemented by a matte white Fragment badge. This monochromatic approach emphasizes the clean lines and sophisticated design of the MC20 Cielo.

Inside the cabin, Fujiwara’s influence continues. The six-way power seats are upholstered in full black leather, featuring unique white stitching that evokes the image of flowing waves. This subtle detail adds a touch of artistic flair to the luxurious interior.

While Fujiwara’s distinct touch is evident, Maserati’s DNA remains woven throughout the design. The Trident emblem, though absent from the rear hood, is elegantly embroidered on the headrests. The steering wheel, wrapped in black Alcantara, echoes the white stitching found on the seats, creating a cohesive and refined interior. A commemorative metal plate, placed between the two headrests, celebrates the collaborative effort between Maserati and Hiroshi Fujiwara for the “Fuoriserie By” program.

The MC20 Cielo, crafted at Maserati’s Modena facility, stands as a testament to cutting-edge engineering. It features the exhilarating F1-derived V6 Nettuno engine, ensuring a thrilling driving experience. One of its most remarkable attributes is the innovative retractable smart glass roof, which effortlessly shifts from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button, allowing drivers to enjoy either an open-air adventure or a cozy enclosed cabin.
