Nestled in the picturesque Aravali Hills along the serene banks of Lake Kanota, Villa Palladio is a boutique retreat featuring nine elegantly designed rooms, just a short 20-minute drive from the bustling city of Jaipur. Inspired by the 19th-century concept of the “Grand Hotel,” VP attracts a diverse clientele of cosmopolitan wanderers, fashion enthusiasts, and those who cherish an atmosphere of informal intimacy, exuberance, exclusivity, and, above all, beauty.
Concealed behind fort-like walls, Villa Palladio reveals itself through its painted verandahs and scalloped arches, leading guests into a breathtaking landscape of lush Mughal gardens. “I envisioned a hotel that embodies the warmth of home, a place that is both wild and wonderful, tranquil yet inviting. It has always been in my mind as a countryside retreat, reminiscent of a beloved aunt’s or a fairy godmother’s abode. I aimed to infuse it with a sense of excitement, surprise, and a hint of mystery. Many hotels tend to be overly grand or expansive; I knew that Villa Palladio should evoke the comfort of home. As for the color red, I find it alluring without being overpowering. With its myriad shades, motifs, and patterns, there’s always something new to discover. I believe our guests feel like children again, eager to explore and dream in every nook and cranny. Villa Palladio embodies the heart and soul I have always wanted to bring to the art of living and entertaining,” says Barbara Miolini.
The nine uniquely designed rooms and suites are adorned with canopied beds, embroidered linens, inlaid marble floors, and intricately hand-carved marble latticed screens, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. Each piece of furniture was custom-made in Jaipur, adding a touch of authenticity and elegance to the space. Signature amenities, including block-printed bathrobes and luxurious bath products from Kama Ayurveda, were carefully chosen to complement the overall décor, ensuring a cohesive and indulgent experience for our guests.
Among the highlights are the four Torre Belvedere rooms, which were once watchtowers. These standard rooms feature octagonal layouts, soaring ceilings, and private terraces, making them a favorite among guests, especially solo travelers. Nestled behind lush hedges of vibrant hibiscus, a sleek black swimming pool mirrors the Mughal-style arched pool house and the whimsical candy-striped sunbeds. At the poolside, a charming pavilion bar serves up Campari-based cocktails that playfully echo the property’s red theme. Guests can indulge in a range of amenities, including a serene spa offering purifying and nourishing rituals, a tranquil garden-side meditation and yoga room known as il eremo, a striking scarlet library, a cheeky boutique filled with holiday essentials and designer threads, and a stable housing six majestic Marwari horses.
Dining at Villa Palladio transforms into a delightful journey, with breakfast enjoyed on the delicately painted floral Breakfast Balcony, while sandwiches and snacks are served in the striped Pool House. Lunch and dinner take place in the enchanting Garden Verandah, adorned with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and painted garlands of ripe pomegranate. The menu celebrates the bold flavors of Southern Italy’s home cooking—“just like nonna made”—alongside a nightly thali featuring subtly spiced Rajasthani classics. Breakfast is a feast for the senses, showcasing an enticing selection of homemade breads and pastries, crowned by the best scrambled eggs in all of Rajasthan.
