Fashion brand Bottega Veneta has teamed up with renowned lighting design company Flos to create a special edition of the iconic Model 600 table lamp, originally designed by Gino Sarfatti. This collaboration brings a fresh twist to a classic piece, merging high fashion with innovative lighting design. The original lamp, crafted for Sarfatti’s own company Arteluce, featured a unique sphere-shaped leather base filled with lead shot pellets, allowing for versatile positioning and a wide range of angles.
In this exciting partnership, Flos has reimagined the leather base of the Model 600 in two distinct styles, showcasing Bottega Veneta’s signature woven leather craftsmanship. The first style employs the brand’s intrecciato technique, which features intricately braided leather, while the second, known as intreccio foulard, adds a textured flair. This second style incorporates ruched leather strips before weaving, resulting in a lamp that exudes volume and a dynamic sense of movement.
The new edition of the Model 600 is available in two sizes and five stunning colors: classic black, sophisticated grey, vibrant red, rich emerald green, and the signature “Bottega Veneta green.” Each lamp is equipped with an LED bulb that mirrors the shape of the original light bulb, ensuring a seamless blend of modern technology and timeless design. This thoughtful integration of color and form makes the Model 600 a striking addition to any space.
Gino Sarfatti, a pioneer in lighting design, founded Arteluce in 1939, which was later acquired by Flos in 1973. The Model 600 table lamp, designed in 1966, coincides with the founding year of Bottega Veneta, creating a unique historical connection between the two brands. This collaboration not only honors Sarfatti’s legacy but also elevates the lamp to a new level of luxury and style.

Versatile in its use, the new Model 600 can be placed on a table or used as a floor lamp, providing the flexibility to direct light either directly or indirectly based on the reflector’s positioning. Sarfatti’s innovative approach to materials and lighting technology has left a lasting impact on the design world, and this collaboration with Bottega Veneta is a testament to his enduring influence in the realm of modern lighting design.
