6 Tips for Achieving a Nature-Inspired Living Space

6 Tips for Achieving a Nature-Inspired Living Space

Do you love the great outdoors? Do you feel more at peace when you are surrounded by fallen leaves, warm sunsets, and gentle streams? If so, you may begrudge the fact you cannot be outside all the time. Don’t fret too much, though, as there are many ways to make your living space feel like the outdoors, only with all the home comforts that come from being inside. If you’re a nature lover and want to bring that vibe home with you, the following six tips are for you.

1. Get Some Green Furniture

Nature is green, so bring that shade into your home with your furniture. Green furniture is beautiful, adding a deepness to any space. In particular, look out for green sofas, as these can look calming and trendy. In fact, a beautiful green sofa can even act as a statement piece for your living room. You’ll feel amazing sinking into such an exquisite piece of furniture after your busy day!

2. Add Greenery

One of the most obvious, easiest, and best ways to achieve a nature-like living room is by adding plants to the area. It’s all about bringing the outdoors inside with you, and you will feel more connected to nature when you do so. You can get plants of all shapes and sizes, so choose the ones that appeal most to your tastes. For living rooms, plants like the Swiss Cheese Plant, Bird of Paradise Plant, and Chinese Money Plant work particularly well!

3. Opt for Natural Materials

When the great outdoors hasn’t been touched by man, you won’t find a piece of plastic in sight. The colors will be soft and pleasing to the eye. You can bring that type of environment into your home by opting for the most natural materials. Items like wicker baskets, wool blankets, and wooden tables work well for this.

4. Let Natural Light Shine Through

While you can get lights that mimic daylight as much as possible, nothing beats the real thing. To make your living space feel more natural, open up the curtains and let the light stream in. This way, it will feel warmer, cozier, and more at one with nature.

5. Get a Log Fire

Electricity seems like the antithesis of the great outdoors. While you will need electricity for general living, you can invest in a genuine log fire to heat your living space on cooler nights. It will look and feel endlessly cozy while also appealing to your more outdoorsy nature.

6. Fill Your Home with Natural Scents

Don’t forget about scents! Choose the most natural scents that make your home smell like the outdoors in all the best ways. Scents like rosemary, lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, and jasmine work well for this. You could use a mixture of essential oils and water to create this atmosphere or choose natural-smelling candles or incense.

Making your home feel more at one with nature doesn’t have to be challenging. With the right furniture, natural materials, and beautiful outdoorsy scents, you won’t ever feel like you’ve shut the outdoor world out. Bring nature home with you!
